DID ANYTHING CHANGE?

THE OUTCOME OF THE TIANANMEN PROTESTS

      Tiananmen Square was and it will always be an event that no one will ever forget. People till now still remember what happened and they think that everything happened because of the political powers of Beijing, who did not want to give to the citizens what they deserved, and they only concentrate on what they could get out from all the changes. 1. People remembering the protests in Tiananmen Square

    Even though a lot of people gave their life while fighting for their rights, nothing changed for the better. For instance, the Chinese government did not care about its actions and the fact that they would get criticized for what they did to the people. Moreover to this day people in China do not have their rights and they learn every day they should not
take something for granted as other people do. The iconic image of the Tank man was, is, and it will always be a symbol of courage and a symbol of what people had to go through in order to get their freedom. People are still hopeful though because as other countries and societies did not get their freedom or any other right overnight, then in the same way Chinese society will get its freedom time by time. (Jose Nino, 2020)

    On the other hand, it is true that people in China do not have the kind of freedom that they would want to have but that does not mean that everything got worse. The main thing that changed after the Tiananmen incidents it is the courage of people. Now, people from not only China but also from all around the world are still doing protests from time to time because they are less afraid of the consequences on their personal life. They are ready to get their rights along with people from the other side of the country.  (Tιεν Αν Μεν: 30 χρόνια από την αιματηρή εξέγερση φοιτητών, 2019). An action of teamwork that has touched the heart of a lot of people because as the founder of the Ford Motor Company, Henry Ford said: "If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself."
